NEO® RLF

Roll Laser Filter

NEO® RLF – Conical Self-Cleaning Laser Melt Filtration System

NEO® RLF is a next-generation Conical Self-Cleaning Laser Melt Filtration System developed by Altech Makina to provide maximum filtration efficiency, uninterrupted production, and superior granule quality in plastic recycling processes. Thanks to its patented conical filter geometry, the plastic melt is distributed uniformly across the filter surface, the filtration area is utilized more efficiently, and pressure fluctuations are minimized. The servo-controlled rotary scraper mechanism continuously removes contaminants accumulated on the filter surface without stopping production and transfers them to the automatic discharge system. This keeps the filter continuously active, reduces maintenance requirements, and significantly extends filter service life.

The filter screen, manufactured using high-precision laser technology, effectively removes paper, wood, aluminum, gels, carbonized particles, and other foreign contaminants from the plastic melt with filtration precision down to 120 microns. At the same time, the smart PLC control system and high-precision pressure sensors continuously monitor the entire process and automatically optimize operating parameters. With its modular design enabling fast maintenance, NEO® RLF provides high performance, low melt loss, stable production, and maximum product quality in the recycling of various thermoplastic materials such as PE, PP, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PS, and ABS, offering a reliable and innovative filtration solution for modern plastic recycling facilities.

NEO® RLF — Maximum Filtration. Minimum Melt Loss. Maximum Performance.

Operating Principle

NEO® RLF – Conical Self-Cleaning Laser Melt Filtration System

NEO® RLF Conical Self-Cleaning Laser Melt Filtration System is designed to continuously filter plastic melt without interrupting the production process. The melt coming from the extruder enters the filter body through the system inlet and is directed to the specially designed conical laser filter screen.

Thanks to the conical geometry, the melt is distributed uniformly across the entire filter surface, preventing the localized loading commonly seen in conventional flat filters. This allows the filtration area to be used more efficiently, pressure to be distributed more evenly, and filter service life to be significantly extended.

During filtration, as the plastic melt passes through micron-precision holes produced using laser technology, paper, wood fibers, aluminum particles, gel formations, carbonized polymers, and other contaminants are retained on the filter surface.

The cleaned melt is then directed straight back into the production line, allowing the process to continue without interruption. Contaminants accumulated on the filter surface are continuously removed by the servo-controlled rotary conical scraper system.

The scraper blades move along the conical surface, carrying contaminants to the lower discharge section. The slag discharge screw located in this area automatically removes the separated waste from the system with minimal melt loss. This keeps the filter surface continuously clean and eliminates the need to stop production for filter replacement.

The entire system is continuously monitored by high-precision pressure sensors and a PLC control system. Inlet and outlet pressures are analyzed in real time, and the operating speed of the scraper mechanism is automatically optimized.

Thanks to this intelligent control system, NEO® RLF provides stable melt pressure, high filtration efficiency, low energy consumption, and maximum granule quality, offering a reliable and continuously operating filtration solution for plastic recycling processes.
