Operating Principle
As the polymer melt passes through the filter screen, paper, aluminum, wood, rubber, burnt particles, and other foreign contaminants are retained. As production continues, contaminants accumulate on the screen, causing the melt pressure to rise gradually.
The system continuously monitors the melt pressure. When the pressure reaches the preset warning level, the operator receives a filter screen replacement alarm.
Before the maximum pressure is reached, the operator activates the hydraulic system and moves the slide carrying the screen outward. The contaminated filter screen is quickly replaced with a new one, and the slide is returned to its operating position.
This restores filtration performance to the optimum level and allows production to continue safely.

SF-TW – Twin Slide Melt Filter

Maximum Efficiency
SF-TW is a twin-slide hydraulic melt filtration system developed to maintain production with minimum downtime in high-capacity plastic recycling and extrusion lines.
Operating Principle
The polymer melt passes through two separate slides (pistons) within the filter body, each carrying an independent filter screen. During normal operation, the melt is distributed evenly across both filter screens, and foreign contaminants are effectively retained.
As production continues, contaminants accumulate on the filter screens, causing the system pressure to increase. When the pressure reaches the preset screen replacement warning level, the operator is alerted.
Before the maximum operating pressure is reached, the operator activates the hydraulic system and moves one of the slides out of the operating position. During this process, the polymer flow is automatically redirected to the other filter slide, allowing production to continue safely.
The contaminated filter screen on the withdrawn slide is quickly cleaned or replaced with a new filter screen. Once the operation is completed, the slide is returned to the operating position and the melt flow is again distributed evenly across both filters.
The same procedure is repeated for the second slide when the other filter screen reaches its contamination limit. Thanks to this alternating operating principle, production losses are minimized while continuous and stable filtration is maintained.
