CF Continuous Melt Filter
Continuous Filtration, Continuous Production Technology
Developed for high-capacity plastic recycling and extrusion lines, the CF – Continuous Melt Filter is a continuously operating melt filtration system that allows filter replacement without stopping production.
Thanks to its large filtration area and dual filter chamber, the system significantly reduces the frequency of filter changes while maintaining a constant melt flow and stable process conditions throughout production.
The system has two independently operating filter zones. While one filter is being cleaned or its screen is being replaced, the other continues production without interruption. This allows the filtration process to continue without stopping the extrusion line.

Operating Principle
The polymer melt is directed to two independent filter zones within the system and subjected to continuous filtration.
Both filters operate alternately, ensuring an uninterrupted melt flow throughout production.
As contaminants accumulate on the filter screen, the system pressure increases. When the pressure reaches the preset filter-change level, the operator is alerted.
The operator activates the hydraulic system via the joystick or control panel and moves the filter carrier outward.
The contaminated filter screen is cleaned or replaced with a new filter screen.
As the filter carrier is moved back into position, the system first fills the filter chamber with melt to prevent the formation of air pockets. This prevents air from entering the system and allows the filter to be brought back into operation without pressure fluctuations.
After the first filter returns to its normal operating position, the same procedure is carried out for the second filter.
Thanks to this alternating operating principle, continuous filtration is achieved without stopping production.
