The growing global population and fast fashion trends are driving a necessary increase in fiber production, leading to excessive consumption and production. Of the 110 million tons of fiber produced annually, 52% is PET, and this production generates a significant amount of waste fiber.

Due to high demand, the textile industry:

Because PET bottle flakes are easy and straightforward to process, today 99% of textile products are produced from post-consumer bottle flakes. However, declining flake resources and increasing polyester fiber waste have made it necessary to accelerate “fiber-to-fiber” recycling processes in the textile industry.

The ViscoUP Fiber-to-Fiber Recycling Plant developed by Altech reintroduces waste fibers from textile factories into the recycling process, thereby:
